Robin grew up and received his schooling on the Cape Flats. After matriculating he attended the University of Cape Town specialising in historical studies. Eventually graduating (cum laude) with a Master of Arts Degree in Historical Studies. Robin is also passionate about mountaineering and is constantly encouraging and mentoring the youth on the Cape Flats to develop an appreciation for the mountains and outdoor environment.

Volunteer member of Wilderness Search and Rescue in the Western Cape
Master of Arts Degree (Historical Studies, University of Cape Town)
Mountaineering experience
Active mountaineer for the past 20 years.
Extensive hiking and trekking experience in South Africa, including Drakensberg, Transkei Wild Coast and most wilderness areas in the Western Cape.
Expert knowledge of the Table Mountain Range.
Rock-climbing (traditional and sport) experience up to grade 16.
