Four young mountaineers and adventurers, namely: Trevor Johnston, Hugh Stevens, Desmond Sauer and Robin Kayser own Kabbo.
Amongst them they have completed the following activities:
Climbed Mount Everest, Mount Aconcagua, French Alps and Pyrenees, Ben Nevis in Scotland, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, and the Drakensberg Mountains.
Hiked and trekked in areas like the Fish River Canyon (Namibia), Maluti Mountains (Lesotho), Transkei Wild Coast, Baviaanskloof, Hawequas, Hex River Mountains, Groot Winterhoek, Cedarberg Wilderness Area, Bokkeveld Mountains, Oorlogskloof Nature Reserve and all the other major hiking trails in South Africa.
Collectively they have over 70 years of mountaineering and outdoor experience.
Their qualifications and memberships, besides being University graduates, include the following:
Accredited tour guides, mountain guides, abseil guides, members of the Cape Province Mountain Club, International School of Mountaineering, South African Mountain Guide Association, South African Mountain Development Trust (mountaineering and rock climbing), members of the Wilderness Search and Rescue Service (mountain rescue) in the Western Cape and qualified first aid practitioners.
The business partners are all formerly disadvantaged individuals and the business is thus fully black owned. Kabbo is also a participant of the Umsobomvu Youth Fund. This fund is helping black South African youth to start their own businesses.
